@DriveProtected I'm sorry I'm having a little rough time trying to install the ppf film I'm working with I notice it gets pretty sticky with the baby shampoo and I think im going to try gel am getting better but I need to slide the ppf into postion and every time I spray down the panel completely with baby slip it gets stuck against the panel and I can move into place...I have these precut pieces from Amazon I brought and it's pretty good but it's a china brand 8.5 thick tpu whatever that stands for but yeah I just wanted to know the squeegee brand and if you used pure alcohol in the panel prep..lmk if u could call me 815-207-9012 my name is tony

Correct, however if the PPF has a self healing layer, lots of those swirl marks should go away under the sun.

Just hot water. Nothing mixed. Straight alcohol will burn the adhesive of the film.

Great question. I would not worry about it, but if you want to take the extra precautions, adding some edge guard tape wouldn’t be a bad idea.

@@DriveProtected Thanks for the quick reply! Think the Xpel edge tape would be bette than the more flexible 3M 8914 vinyl edge tape?

I have no idea what the 3M stuff is, so I would assume the Xpel is good enough for this situation.

Thats correct! Clay bar the panel to remove any embedded contaminants from the painted surface.

PPF can stick to headlights, it’s just very hard to get the to stick long term. I personally don’t offer them unless the customer is requesting them. Also, I do not offer any warranty on them either.

It’s called the “Cutmaster” from the Tintstitute. Has a sensor attached to the plate that reads pressure during your cuts
